TRANSFER ON DEATH DEED in San Antonio, TX
The most common Deed our office drafts is a Transfer on Death Deed. This Deed serves to transfers real property (a home or parcel of land), at the time of the Gifter’s death. This Deed must be drafted, signed with a notary, and recorded in the County Deed records while the Gifter is living. It is also revocable during the Gifter’s lifetime. After the Gifter’s death, a loved-one simply records an “Affidavit of Death” with the County clerk.
This deed saves great expense because it avoids the need to probate the Gifter’s Will after their death.
